After-School All-Stars Pahoa

Mission

After-School All-Stars Hawaii (ASAS) provides comprehensive after-school programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life.

Vision

Our goal is to identify and fuel our student’s individual passions, by tying their interests to tailored academic support, enrichment activities and sports. By creating lasting relationships with our students and incorporating service learning, we equip our All-Stars with the confidence and skills to become productive members of their community.

About Us

After-School All-Stars Hawaii (ASAS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in Hawaiʻi and has provided free after-school programs for middle school students since 2009. ASAS serves more than 2,300 students in the islands every year by partnering with the Hawaiʻi Department of Education and other community organizations. ASAS Hawaii leverages community resources, provides engaging learning opportunities for students, addresses the major issues students face today and provides practical solutions for working families in under-resourced communities.

ASAS provides its students a safe-haven during the ‘danger zone’ hours of 3pm to 6pm – the time of day when youth violence, drug use and other delinquent behaviors are most likely to occur. ASAS programs provide effective and thoughtful supports to fight against increasing school drop-out and the obesity crisis, in addition to preparing our students for fulfilling careers in the modern workforce.
