Congratulations to students who participated in the 4th Annual Kick Ball Tournament and won the Costume Contest at the event.
Congratulations to students Janelle Chang placed 2nd and Kealani Archuleta placed 3rd for the BIIF Championships. Both will represent Pahoa and the BIIF in Oahu at the HHSAA State Wrestling championships on Tuesday, Feb. 20 and Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Members of the U.S. Women’s Volleyball Team – Courtney Thompson, Tamari Miyashiro, Alizha Glass, Kristin Hildebrand and Lauren Paolini – sing the Pahoa High School’s alma mater after giving a presentation to students in the school’s gym. The players visited Pahoa as part of a state wide Give It Back Foundation Tour to promote healthy competition and generosity.

The Daggers didn’t register a scorer in double-figures Tuesday night, but they also didn’t allow Kealakehe to reach double-digits until the second half, winning 26-18 at their gym to start the BIIF girls basketball regular season. Allyssa Padilla and Raynah Berinobis each scored seven points for Pahoa, which shut out the Waveriders in the first quarter and led 12-3 at halftime. Pamela Kalavi did the bulk of the scoring for Kealakehe, finishing with 12 points. On October 28, 1st game the team played against Ka’u and 2nd game played against Kea’au. Both games ended in a tie. On October 29, Pahoa played against Ka’u and scored 9 points and Ka’u scored 1 point. Pahoa made the Championship round and played against Kea’au. Pahoa won the Championship game by 2 points. Congratulations to the coaches and team on a successful season. Go Pahoa! The Pahoa High School Boys' Volleyball Team has qualified for the State Tournament which will be held on Oahu starting this Wednesday 5/4/2016. Their victory over the Kohala Boys' Volleyball Team on Friday evening April 29th gave them a birth to the State Tournament.
Please congratulate our boys and encourage them on to victory as they represent Our Pahoa Daggers of the BIIF Division II in the State Volleyball Tournament. Also we have a Senior Kilinahe Oliveira of Pahoa and Junior Stella Javier of HAAS, that will be competing in the States Track Meet on Oahu as well. On April 16, 2016, Girls’ Basketball Team won against Ka’u and Boys’ Basketball played three back-to-back games and won two games against two Kea’au teams. On April 9,2016, we had our first Basketball game at Kea'au High School gym. Pahoa's Boy's Basketball team played against Kea'au in the first game, score was Pahoa 27, Kea'au 14, the second game the Pahoa Boy's played against Ka'u , The score for the second game was Pahoa 26, Ka'u 9. The Girl's Basketball team played against Kea'au in their first game, the score was Pahoa 19, Kea'au 4. The Girl's second game was against Ka'u, this game went into double overtime the score was Pahoa7, Ka'u 9, what a game that was.
