Step 1: Once your design is approved and ok by Ms. Miguel.  You will print out your design on 8.5 x 11 -inch paper.  Next you will create a grid line (6 by 4) with a pencil and ruler on your design paper.
11-Inch side =  1 ¾ , 3 ½ , 5 ¼ , 7 , 8 ¾
8.5-Inch Side = 2 ¼ , 4 ¼ , 6 ¼
Step 2: After you finished with 8.5 by 11 inch paper.  Ask Ms. Miguel for a larger 13x19-inch sheet of paper.  With a Ruler,  create a 0.5-inch Grid  Within the margins, draw Lines that are 3 inches long with a  pencil.


LETTERS, Numbers & Characters:  will be rendered in color. Use colored pencils/markers for the letters/numbers. Make sure you choose your focal point to be in color and balance the other colors throughout the piece

BACKGROUND: background will be in black & white-create a positive & negative space reversal patterns in your art. Use Sharpies for the background. Create various patterns in the background to change the values.

Create a focal point using size variation and color contrast. Vary the size and angle of the letters or numbers. Use black and white design in the background.

Steps 1 (4 Points) : Adobe Photoshop. Find 1 font for each of the styles below. Write your choices (font names) down below.
  
Step 2 ( 7 Points):  Choose 5 to 7 Letters, Numbers & Characters that you will use in the design.  Circle the letter to be your focal point.

Step 4:  With the letters, numbers and characters listed in Step 2 design a Typographic Design by overlapping, twisting (rotate) and have the letters go partially off the page to make the composition more interesting.  Design by using style, size, color and contrast.
