Storyboard Practice Worksheet

Wednesday November 16, 2022 Assignment

In our the Basic Visual Storytelling Project.  You will be in groups and using a camera taking compositional shots on the focus statement your group choose to do.  First you will practice the skill used in Pre-production: storyboarding.

What is a Storyboard?
A storyboard is a graphic organizer that plans a narrative. Storyboards are a powerful way to visually present information; the linear direction of the cells is perfect for storytelling, explaining a process, and showing the passage of time. At their core, storyboards are a set of sequential drawings to tell a story. By breaking a story into linear, bite-sized chunks, it allows the author to focus on each cell separately, without distraction.

Directions: Note, A hardcopy of this assignment will be given in class. Think about a time, memory or an experience that shaped the person who you are today, sketch and draw the scenes of  that experience or memory.  When drawing your scenes, think about the 5 basic compositional  shots we learned in class. Below your sketch describes the shot and what we will be seeing.
Rubric - Sketch is Clear (3 Points); Sketched Various Shots (3 Points); sketched filled 6 shot scenes and describe the shot (18 Points)

Advice from Ms. Miguel:
Choose and plan your compositional visual shots wisely.  If you use the same compositional visual framing continously, this may be boring and you will loose your audience.    For example 1 is close up and 2nd is a close up.
To learn about the Storyboarding watch the Intro to Storyboarding attached to this assignment posting.
When you are done with the assignment, please place it in your class folders until Ms. Miguel asks for it to be turned in.

What are Ethics?
Unethical Practice in Information Technology occurs because of what 4 things?
Describe and explain Inappropriate Computer Use.
Describe what is defamation and explain the 2 parts of a Defamation.
Describe what is Privacy Invasion and why this issue has increased over the years.

What are the 10 commandments of computer ethics?
What is a Code of Ethics?  Why is the Code of Ethics important?

⭐Part 2 Directions (5 Points Each): Review presentation: https://bit.ly/3nWwca2. Read each scenario below  carefully and provide your judgment whether the person’s behavior is ethical or unethical. Write your response in complete sentences, and elaborate, explain and justify your judgment and response.
Scenario#1 : A scientist developed a theory which required proof through the construction of a computer model. He hired a computer programmer to build the model and the theory was shown to be correct. The scientist won several awards for the development of the theory, but he never acknowledged the contribution of the computer programmer. Was the scientist's behavior ethical?

Scenario#2: A computer user called a mail-order software company to order a particular accounting system. When he received his order, he found the store had accidentally sent him a very expensive word-processing program as well as the accounting package he had ordered. The invoice listed only the accounting package. The user decided to keep the word-processing package. Was the user’s behavior ethical?

Scenario #3: A programmer at a bank realized he had accidentally overdrawn his checking account. He made a small adjustment in the bank’s accounting system so his account would not have the additional service charge assessed. As soon as he deposited funds which made his balance positive again, he corrected the bank’s accounting system. Was the programmer’s behavior ethical?

Scenario #4: A computer programmer built small computer applications (programs) in order to sell them. This was not his main source of income. He worked for a moderately sized computer vendor. He would frequently go to his office on Saturday when no
one was working and use his employer’s computer to develop applications. He did not hide the fact he was going into the building; he had to sign a register at a security desk each time he entered. Was his behavior ethical?

Scenario #5: State College charges its departments for computer time usage on the campus mainframe. A student had access to the university computer system because a class she was taking required extensive computer usage. The student enjoyed playing games on the computer and frequently had to request extra computer funds from her professor in order to complete her assignments. Was the student’s
