Kaukau 4 Keiki is a six-week summer program funded by the County of Hawai‘i and administered by The Food Basket, Hawai'i Island's Food Bank. Kaukau 4 Keiki will distribute $53 of food benefits per week (a $35 grocery gift card and an $18 value of Hawai‘i grown produce) to help families with economic hardship. Kaukau 4 Keiki is explicitly designed for families with school-aged children who reside on Hawai'i Island. There will be a limit of one Kaukau 4 Keiki set per family. To qualify:
This program is slated to begin the week of June 20th, 2022, and conclude on Friday, July 29, 2022. Grocery cards and produce will be distributed at pick-up sites island-wide. Deadline to Apply is on Thursday, June 9 4 PM. To apply, please fill out our online application. Upon qualification, applicants will be selected on a first-come-first-serve basis. Pahoa High and Intermediate School will be providing free breakfast and lunch to students 18 years of age and younger. Breakfast and lunch must be consumed on campus. Student must be able to carry their own tray to the table. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:00 am and Lunch will be served from 12:15-12:30 pm.
