Have you ever seen a human lung? Our class did! Mr. Blackburn invited the Intermediate FSC to see a real pair of human lungs. He showed us a non-smokers lung that was pink and when air was put in it, the lungs got large. On the other hand, the smoker lung was black as tar and it barely expanded when air was added. Mr. Blackburn made it clear to our class that smoking is unhealthy. So after seeing the photos of the healthy and unhealthy lungs, will you be a smoker???

This month Pahoa Intermediate School students participated in SpringBoard Multimedia Project to help students understand “One Person Can Make a Difference.” Students developed a multimedia presentation that informs others about an issue of national or global significance and encourages their peers to take action.
