Hawaii District FFA Contest. On Saturday (12/10/16), the Pahoa FFA Chapter attended the Hawaii District FFA Conference, along with Honokaa HS, Keaau HS, Konawaena HS, and Waiakea HS. This year, our students competed in 5 of the 10 Hawaii FFA Career Development Events. All students who placed 1st or 2nd in their event are qualified to compete at the State level on Kauai in March 2017. Below are the official results. Please congratulate our Pahoa FFA students on a job well done! Their hard work, dedication and commitment to preparing for their contests really paid off!

Three Pahoa FFA students attended the 89th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, IN, during the week of October 17. Jeryll John Bernardo (gr. 11), Albert Pattarachote (gr. 10), and Charlie Julian (gr. 10) were among nine students who represented the state of Hawaii. During the convention, students attended workshops and were challenged to Transform their Purpose into Action. Jeryll John also competed in the National Prepared Public Speaking Career Development Event and received a bronze pin. Congratulations, Jay-Jay! Congratulations to Pahoa High School's Future Farmers of America (FFA) program in receiving 1st place overall title at the FFA Conservation Awareness on November 20, 2015. It has been 10 years since Pahoa High School last won the State Contest! The students might have a chance to compete in the National contest in Oklahoma in May 2016!
