One of our students went head to head with the best and the brightest at the District Science Fair and performed extremely well in one of the toughest competitions to date. He was also the only KKP student to compete this year! Xavier Tablit, 11th Grade, received many awards – the Imiloa Outstanding Project in Space Science Award, the Sierra Club Moku Loa Dr. Don Worsencroft Award, the East Asian Observatory Research Project Award, the NASA Earth System Science Award, and incredibly the Yale Science and Engineering Association, Inc. Award! Additionally he placed the Best in Subject Senior Division for Physics and Astronomy, and 5th place overall in the Senior Division. This was a continuation project that Xavier completed discovering and researching star “anomalies” that have never been seen before! He garnered prizes of certificates, cash prizes, and even a year’s free membership for him and his family to Imiloa! Xavier will move on to the State Competitions.
