Our mass messaging program (School Messenger) will go completely live with automated attendance messaging on August 20th. On this same date at approximately 10:00am parents will receive a text message (see attachment) giving them the opportunity to opt into the texting portion of the School Messenger program. Please ensure your parents are aware of this opportunity because School Messenger will only send this text message once. However, if parents fail to opt in at this time they can still go to the School Messenger website (www.schoolmessenger.com) and download their app to opt in. Note: if parents choose to opt in, the actual ability for them to receive text messages won't occur until two weeks after their initial opt in date.
We are excited to provide a new and improved way to apply and track your eligibility benefits – it’s called SchoolCafe Eligibility. The link below will take you directly to SchoolCafe. But first:
Are you an existing SchoolCafe user and already have an account (you have made a payment on a lunch account, viewed purchase activity or viewed the school meals menu)?
· Yes: Click the link below, sign in, then navigate to “Eligibility Benefits” (left hand side menu), then click “Apply”.
· No: Click “Register” to sign up for a new parent account. Once you are registered, your initial screen will prompt you to add students to your SchoolCafe account. This process helps us identify those students within your household so that we can quickly and accurately identify them for applying. Once your children are added to your account, navigate to “Eligibility Benefits” and click ”Apply”.
SchoolCafe will walk you through the application process.
SchoolCafe Eligibility provides history and tracking of submitted applications. Need a copy of the Benefit Notification letter(s)? No problem, just print one out. The best part is SchoolCafe provides a complete mobile-friendly experience. Complete your application from your phone or mobile device by accessing the website (www.schoolcafe.com). No need to download an app from the device store.
We are excited to provide this new and improved application process. Go ahead and click that link to get started!
The Youth Ranger Program will expose students to conservation careers. This is a paid internship that starts during the spring semester and extends into the summer. It can also be extended into college as well.
To apply to the Youth Ranger Program a Email a letter to Kupono McDaniels, Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park ranger at email@example.com
After the eight week training there will be a job opening for several positions that the students can apply for (if they are US citizens and maintaining a 2.5 GPA or better). Seniors will need to be moving on to college to qualify, an unfortunate requirement from my standpoint but inescapable.
